I have been making things since before I can remember. Making with pencils or words or paint or fabric; the act of creating something out of nothing still astounds me.
I am influenced by the many creatives that live around me, who encourage me to keep on making even when inspiration is thin on the ground. I am influenced by the wonderful vibrancy and grit of Boscombe, the beautiful community I live in. I am influenced by nature and family and colour and, most importantly of all, by the sheer joy of being a child of my father God.
I want my work to be fun, to celebrate life, to provoke smiles; but to also be realistic and not veer into nostalgia or idealism. There is no point in sewing cute phrases if the phrase is hollow or immature.
Trained in Fashion at Arts University Bournemouth, I currently specialise in embroidery and small craftwork, but am in that sweet spacious time of life where it feels I could discover new skills and passions at any moment.
